The paper presents two already recognizable forms of action of the Association for Modern History (UMHIS): the maintenance of History Fest Sarajevo (2017-2019) and the publisher activity of UMHIS (since 2016). In the introductory part of the paper, the author briefly recalls some aspects of the work of the societies of historians of Yugoslavia/Bosnia and Herzegovina and their disappearance with the dissolution of common state. Dramatic war events (1992-1995) impoverished Bosnian and Herzegovinian society in human and material resources in general, including historiography in particular, and the
post-war establishment of regional associations of historians of completeness reflects the political reality of present-day Bosnia and Herzegovina.
